CineFix has put together in one video what it calls the “10 Most Effective Editing Moments of All Time.” While one might argue whether the list includes the actual top ten, it is hard to argue that these clips — from movies like Godfather (1972), Battleship Potemkin (1925), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), and Psycho (1960) — are not at least among the best. I will not ruin which movie they chose as number one. Check it out.

Huffington Post recently compiled a video of movie scenes with actor Christopher Walken dancing. The clip features scenes of Walken’s moves from more than fifty movies, all set to C+C Music Factory’s “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now).” Movies featured in the montage include The Deer Hunter (1978), Batman Returns (1992), Wayne’s World 2 (1993), Pulp Fiction (1994), Wedding Crashers (2005), Hairspray (2007), and A Late Quartet (2012). Seeing the large number of films that feature Walken’s moves, I wonder if some filmmakers hire him on that talent alone. Check it out.
Walken has not only danced in movies. With all of Walken’s great film work, he is also known for his footwork in the great video for Fatboy Slim‘s “Weapon of Choice.” If the new movie montage video has you craving more Walken dancing, here’s the Fatboy Slim video.

Jonathan Keogh put together a video based on Steven Jay Schneider’s book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. For good measure, Keogh added 215 additional titles. It is a great edit job, putting together themes, like the opening sequence of film scenes set in movie theaters. Check it out.

I enjoy anticipating upcoming films. For those of you who are like me, Hayden Vartiainen put together this montage of scenes from some of the big blockbuster films that will be released in 2014. Featured films include 22 Jump Street, 300: Rise of an Empire, Noah, Transcendence, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Near the end, the video shows the title cards for the featured movies.
The music in the movie supercut is John Murphy‘s “Surface of the Sun” from the soundtrack for the movie Sunshine (2007).
