Last night, Saturday Night Live pondered what subject director Quentin Tarantino may tackle next after turning the Holocaust and American slavery into revenge fantasies in Inglourious Basterds (2009) and Django Unchained (2012). In a mock ad, this week’s host Christoph Waltz, who starred in both those movies, appeared in the starring role in a new Tarantino film, DJesus Uncrossed.
While the short DJesus Uncrossed video seems mainly aimed at making fun of the Tarantino style and our fascination with revenge films, some have complained that it mocks Christians. Check it out and judge for yourself.
How would you rate the video for “Djesus Uncrossed”: funny, so-so, or offensive? Leave your two cents in the comments.

I don’t think it’s offensive. But I’m not a Christian so there’s that. But as far as funny goes, it’s so-so. However, I did like the critic quote that say “It’s a a less violent Passion of the Christ.” That made me laugh.
Yeah, since the humor is based on the premise that they are showing Christ in a clearly opposite way from what he taught, it doesn’t seem to be saying Christians are wrong in any way. As for the humor, I also agree that there are a few points that are funny, like the one you mention (I liked the “H is silent” line too). Interestingly, I remember reading one critic who commented that the image of Christ at the end of “Passion of the Christ” made him look like he was heading out for revenge, which is where this clip begins.
The “revenge” part of “Passion” was when that single tear fell from heaven and broke apart the temple where all the bad Jews were. Glad to know that Mel Gibson never went on a rant against Jews or else some might read an anti-Jew sentiment in that closing scene…
